Year of the Tiger
I shot this maybe a year and half ago, but have struggled with decision whether it is a "keeper" or not. I love the pose, the lighting and that the fact tiger was amongst the vegetation, however, my problem was the chain link fence this was shot through. I got as close to the fence as possible to help blur it out as well as composed the image so that the Tiger's face was framed by one the links and as unobstructed as possible. However, I was still bothered with the resulting distortion and blur caused by the fence around the face of the tiger and spent a lot of time trying to sharpen and correct it in Photoshop without ever being satisfied with the result until ultimately abandoning the photo until now. With a fresh perspective I decided to approach it the opposite direction and enhanced the softness by using a dream filter, which seemed to help blend the distortion and blur with the rest of the photo, in a much more satisfying way. This is the result.
